Songs of Conquest Campaign Guide
How the four campaigns are organized and the basics of getting started.
The base game has four main campaigns, one for each of its four original factions. DLC stories and factions are outside this guide’s scope. This guide recommends learning the basics through Arleon’s The Song of Stoutheart, the game’s first campaign.
Protagonist: Cecilia Stoutheart. The game’s first campaign. This guide recommends starting here to learn the basics.
Protagonist: Rasc. A campaign exploring Rana’s setting.
Protagonist: Baron Aldus of Loth. A campaign set in the Barony of Loth.
Protagonist: Bihgli Satherdown. A campaign about Barya’s independence.
The following is general advice based on approaches shared by Heroes of Might and Magic-style turn-based strategy games. Game-specific numbers and turn targets will be added when they can be verified.
A straightforward style built around durable troops and defense. Its dependable early development makes it an accessible introduction to the game.
A faction built around swamp-dwelling tribes and creatures. Army building focuses on the combination of Wielder and troops.
A resource-management style. These independent merchant states broke away from the empire and field mercenaries and technological troops.
A faction centered on necromancy and undead troops. It is considered capable of building up its forces over longer conflicts.

Q1. In what order should I play the campaigns?
This guide recommends starting with Arleon’s The Song of Stoutheart, the game’s first campaign. We have not verified a clear official or community consensus on the recommended order of the other three: Rana’s From the Ashes, Barony of Loth’s Together for Her, and Barya’s The Price of Freedom. You can choose the order you prefer.
Q2. Which resources should I focus on early?
The three basic resources are **Gold, Wood and Stone**. Prioritize securing the mines and settlements that produce them. Rare resources — Glimmerweave, Ancient Amber and Celestial Ore — are needed to unlock higher-level troops, so pay more attention to them from the middle of a game onward.
Q3. When should I attack neutral camps?
A common approach in Heroes of Might and Magic-style strategy games is to clear weaker neutral camps early for experience and resources, then take on stronger neutral strongholds once your army has grown. We have not verified specific turn targets for this game, so judge each fight against your current army’s strength.
Q4. Which difficulty should I choose?
This guide suggests starting with a lower setting if this is your first playthrough or your first Heroes of Might and Magic-style game. The three groups below are explanatory categories; the current difficulty labels and exact AI modifiers have not been checked. Read the in-game descriptions and increase the setting once you are comfortable with the basics.
