Recruit Edward and James

Use room names and floors to navigate after the opening battle.

Steps and checks

After the second-floor granary encounter, speak to Edward to join him.
Collect the monastery map in the third-floor bedroom and visit the first-floor living room and kitchen.
Defeat the Planter at the back of the herb garden and collect the sacred necklace.
Speak to the fallen James; saving becomes available after his recruitment.

Early collection checks

Track healing and ammunition separately along the route.
